    Southampton
    • Jan Bednarek and Taylor Harwood-Bellis are expected to recover in time to start on Wednesday night, but Ross Stewart, Juan Larios and Will Smallbone miss out.
    • Despite using a three-man backline against Wolves last time out, Ivan Juric is expected to opt for a 4-2-3-1 here.
    Crystal Palace
    • Will Hughes is a doubt for Crystal Palace, who are without Joel Ward, Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure for the trip to Southampton.
    • Oliver Glasner may go for the same XI that started the 3-0 FA Cup win at Fulham on Saturday.
    • Eddie Nketiah and Daichi Kamada both impressed off the bench in that victory and are pushing for starts should Glasner make changes.
  • Prediction

Southampton's miserable season continued with a 2-1 loss to Wolves prior to the international break. Saints have now lost their last six in all competitions, and have lost all but two of 14 league games at St. Mary's in 2024/25.

By contrast, Crystal Palace are flying having now won 10 of their last 12 in all competitions. The Eagles have won their last six away matches and haven't conceded an away goal since Gabriel Jesus' 81st-minute strike in the EFL Cup back in December.

Saints are 17 points off safety with nine games to go and they'll need a miracle to perform the great escape. They're unlikely to get any such reprieve against in-form Palace on Wednesday night.
