Motherwell have a new man in the dugout, as Michael Wimmer’s stay with the Steelmen was cut short due to personal reasons with Jens Berthel Askou succeeding him in the Fir Park hotseat.
Jordan McGhee has signed for the club from Dundee and Emmanuel Longelo has joined from Birmingham City as the Well look to bolster their defence.
In midfield, Elliot Watt - who was on loan in the Premiership with St Johnstone last season - has joined from Burton Albion. Lukas Fadinger swapped SCR Altach in the Austrian Bundesliga for a Scottish adventure.
In the wide areas, Danish duo Elijah Just and Ibrahim Said have signed for the Steelmen from AC Horsens and Viborg FF respectively. Striker Eseosa Sule has signed on loan from West Bromwich Albion.
Rangers

The Russell Martin revolution at Rangers has already kicked off with European football, as the Gers hope for a better showing domestically.
Defenders Emmanuel Fernandez and Nasser Djiga have joined from Peterborough United permanently and Wolves temporarily. Max Aarons has also joined the Gers on loan from AFC Bournemouth.
In midfield, Joe Rothwell has also made the move from Bournemouth to Rangers. Lyall Cameron has joined from Dundee on a pre-contract agreement and Thelo Aasgaard has signed from Luton Town.
Djeidi Gassama has swapped Sheffield Wednesday for the Gers, making his mark against Panathinaikos already. Oscar Cortes’ loan at Ibrox has turned into a permanent stay from French side Lens.

Rangers

In the three Scottish Premiership meetings last season between Motherwell and Rangers, both teams won one apiece and the other was a draw, but there's been a whole host of changes throughout the summer.
Motherwell have a new manager in the dugout after Michael Wimmer left the Well to return to his native Germany. Jens Berthel Askou is the man that the Steelmen hope can steer them higher than their 8th-place finish in the Scottish Premiership last season. Having lost to Rangers in last season's League Cup semi-final, they'll hope for better cup showings in both the League Cup and Scottish Cup too.
Rangers took their time before confirming former loanee Russell Martin as their new Head Coach. New gaffer in the dugout, new owners and new players have brought a new sense of optimism in Govan. After negotiating past Panathinaikos in Champions League qualifying, Viktoria Plzen await the Gers who are hoping to compete on a domestic front better than they have done last season.
Motherwell will hope to take advantage of a potentially-fatigued Rangers, who will have to make their way back from Greece, but the Gers will want to get off to a winning start by hook or by crook at Fir Park.
