- Alexander Isak missed the 1-0 loss at Arsenal last weekend and will be assessed, with Callum Wilson potentially continuing on the frontline.
- Matt Targett, Lewis Hall, Joelinton and Kieran Trippier once again miss out for the home side.
- Eddie Howe may go with an unchanged XI for the welcome of Everton, though William Osula is also an option for the Magpies boss.
Everton- Seamus Coleman and Jarrad Branthwaite were both forced off either side of half time in last week's 2-0 over Southampton, though the latter will be assessed.
- Orel Mangala, Jesper Lindstrom and James Tarkowski all miss out for the Toffees.
- Michael Keane may start in place of Branthwaite should the latter fail to overcome a slight hamstring strain.
- Prediction
Newcastle's 1-0 loss to Arsenal means their top-five hopes remain in their hands, but they are level on points with Chelsea and Aston Villa in fifth and sixth, respectively, so they can't afford to rest on their laurels here. That said, Newcastle have won their last six at home heading into Sunday's welcome of Everton.
The Toffees won their final game at Goodison Park last weekend and have nothing to play for heading into the final game of the campaign. David Moyes has overseen two wins from the last three away matches, so are not to be underestimated this weekend.
Even so, with more at stake, Newcastle should wrap up a top-five finish with all the spoils on Sunday.
